I was looking into it and i can not find issues with taking shrooms, besides bad trips. Let's say 20 years from now marijuana is legalized, I think magic mushrooms will be the next thing that people will be saying should be legalized. Thoughts on this?

All drugs should be legal.

If I am not mistaking ecstasy is a little more dangerous than mushrooms.

You seem to be saying magic mushrooms are dangerous, how are they dangerous?

side note:I don't think that harmful drugs such as cocaine, meth, etc. should be legal, but there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with marijuana or shrooms (and don't let this turn into a marijuana debate, there is one of those going right now haha)

Sometimes ecstasy has cocaine and/or meth in it....seriously unless someone gets pure MDMA there is a good chance there is going to be other things in it.

Agreed. That would destroy the criminal element over night and we could start treating drug addiction like the medical condition it is.

I was not saying Magic Mushrooms are particularly dangerous, however they are dangerous to an extent. Like with all psychedelic drugs, the existence can bring out previous mental health issues, and cause anxiety or depression. Also, if you have a mushroom with a particularly high conc. of the active chemicals then like with any hallucinogen, you risk harming yourself by falling down the stairs or similar.

I think with most drugs, the chemical should be legalised in some kind of tablet or injection form, rather than legalising the natural source. There is more control that way.

Yeah I think I'd rather just eat the mushrooms.

And more side effects.

I can see why. A lot of people who use hallucinogens for shamanic/spiritual purposes would agree with you.

If the main problem with ecstasy is that it often has harmful drugs in it, then it will still be illegal to have ecstasy that has harmful drugs in it. If MDMA is no longer illegal, then a legal market only exists for the drug by itself, and the legal market will be regulated to prevent (much) of the mixing in of other illegal substances.
