When Religion and Family Values Collide

To start this thread, I would like to direct our attention to a certain subreddit.

So many youths are getting kicked out of their homes due to theological differences that there is an entire subreddit devoted to them.

Jesus actually knew that this would happen. I have proof.

"Do not think that I came to bring peace on Earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man's enemies will be the members of his household. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it."

Here's the weirdest thing about this situation: Most of these parent who disown their atheist kids probably claim to believe in "family values" because most Christian fundamentalist throw that term around often. How can you disown your child over theological differences and still call yourself a supporter of family values?

The people who actually believe in family values the most are people who think that family values are more important that Jesus.
