they just don't want working class folks to have affordable health care, in so many words. they would much rather spend money on guns than butter. must be some macho thing. the budget is just a smokescreen for their imperialist social Darwinist priorities.

The government is currently $17 trillion in debt. Obamacare is estimated to cost $2.6 trillion.
-17,000,000,000,000 - 2,600,000,000,000 = -$19,600,000,000,000
If you then add the total federal tax revenue, you get:
-19,600,000,000,000 + 2,600,000,000,000 = -$17,000,000,000,000
Meaning that the government still has a $17 trillion debt plus interest, which is about $259 billion currently. So if we include the interest in the national debt, we get:
-17,000,000,000,000 - 259,000,000,000 = -$17,259,000,000,000

Still think Obamacare is a good idea? Math disagrees with you.

The cost for the ACA is guesswork, at best. The figures you are using were developed on an absolute worst case scenario in a report summarized by an openly conservative Republican. I find these numbers as speculative as the ones put forward by the Democrats about how much it will save the government long-term.
The ACA is designed in a way that results in continuously decreasing costs as time goes on. The initial expenditures are for the set up and implementation of the systems, which carries such a hefty price tag thanks to conservative state governments refusing to set up their own exchanges.

35% of Americans are effing clueless idiots that shouldn't be allowed to have an opinion about anything. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-250_162-576 ... blame-gop/

Yes, insult anyone who disagrees with you. That makes your case so much more solid than if you presented actual facts.

still think tax cuts for the rich are a good idea? still think funding a bloated military industrial complex at ever increasing [and unsustainable without long-term harm] is a good idea? if you'd rather your tax dollars went to those things rather than the vulnerable among our citizenry, then IMHO your priorities are nasty.

If people hadn't tried to tax the bejeezus out of the rich, they wouldn't have moved all their money to offshore bank accounts. Tithing is actually a wonderful idea for taxes. Everyone gives 10% (or whatever percentage) of their income. People who make $10 billion a year would give $1 billion and people who make $100 a year would give $10. No one could say it was unfair because everyone would be giving the same percentage.

Sure, take money away from the people serving your country and keeping it safe so you can share your opinions freely. That's a real good idea...

I am not talking about the troops and you know that. you are conveniently ignoring the big elephant in the room which is the brass and the military industrial complex [aka "echelons beyond reality"] which sucks all the money and leaves but a pittance to the people down below. I served so I know first hand what amount of waste was going on in there. and flat taxes are inherently unfair due to the fact that 10% to somebody making minimum wage is a greater hardship than 10% to bill gates. have you never made minimum wage? have you never lived from paycheck to paycheck? I guess not, you must be one of those comfortable middle-class types who vote republican. if they started putting rich scofflaws [any fatcat who hides his or her money from the IRS] in jail under hard labor, that would be a better solution. the problem with this country is too many gullible people actually think that one day they too will be able to get rich and leave their struggling working class brothers behind with a sneer. dog eat dog is what it is.

WTF are you talking about? The debt has nothing to do with PPACA. No need to mix the two issues and invoke math as if that magically makes a point appear.
