I switched from netzero to DSL and just got around to canceling my account today. Well so I hope it was a nightmarish phone call and I have no idea if it is in fact canceled. I assume from past experience that I will have problems. I asked many times for a snail mail address so I could send a register letter but they refused. So
the lesson you should learn is always investigate a company to see how easy it is to cancel there services. Do it on goggle and at the companies web page.

I found a news story in which a guy signed up for 32 services and Netzero was the most difficult to cancel!

I'd open up a bank account specifically for their service and then close the account when I wanted to cancel.

I'd say that investigating the companies you choose to deal with and the products you choose to buy is a major thing that people need to do.
