Yes, Phelps would have been right at home in the mythological world of ancient Israel. Probably lots of places in the ancient world. Who knows if the common people actually took that
as seriously as the priests who wrote about it but...

Well, I'm clearly a Christian who doesn't agree with either the WBC message or methods. I also know members of the LGBT community who are Christians, and obviously wouldn't agree with those nutso bastards, either.

Just pointing out we're not all monsters. As I said, there are LGBT Christians who are despised for who they are by the Fred Phelps' of the world, but still hold to their faith.

Indeed, Kraichgauer does this a lot. He seems to follow the line that 'my friends and my church are not like that so therefore they must be representative of the majority.'

ANd this, Kraichgauer, is an example of why I have an issue with some of them... there is an assumption that because I can have an educated discussion about the man, his beliefs, and christianity... that I must be christian... and nothing is farther from the truth...

I am pagan... an Erisian, to be precise... a follower of the Grecco-roman goddess of mischief, chaos and humor...

However... what I was stating is that it is unpleasant to have a conversation with me on the subject of the bible and christian behavior due to the fact that I came to my place in the universe by way of being a baptist minister (ordained)...

Were I not a Christian, I might have been a devotee of Thor/Donar/Thunor, as he makes it rain for people's crops to grow, and unlike his Dad, Wodan/Odin, he actually goes out of his way to protect people.

Keep in mind Westboro is not an actual Baptist Church. They just use the name but they are not affiliated with any conference. They are a force unto themselves.
