How do you believe in evolution without believing in natural selection? Both extinction and speciation have been observed. That sounds like natural selection to me.

I thought someone's first impression would have been about homosexuals and all those other queers. I know that's what stuck out for me.

This does not mean I don't believe in the concept of Natural Selection, but it has the power of God and happens purposely with the intention of God, not a random process of unconscious nature.
I understand it's understandable with science as it tries to give out a nontheistic explanation, but natural selection isn't exactly any more empirical than ID, which is why I have the right to accept one over the another without being wrong in it. I shouldn't have used the word "myth", but it still is in my eyes as it tries to explain an unsupported, non-empirical hypothesis of random process, I still can believe in evolution, it's just not an evolution of without God.

Natural selection in not random. And it's central to the idea of evolution.

As I understand the usage, it's comparable to the N word - that is, only those of that particular group can use it without it being derogatory. But I now understand you hadn't meant to sound bigoted.

There is no theory of evolution without natural selection. And it is technically neutral on the subject of god (but atheists would say it does remove him as a necessary aspect of the origin of species).

I wouldn't say NS is neutral, it's just indifferent and tries to explain things objectively, just like as we can say that God is responsible for Big Bang, but science tries to elaborate with testable evidence rather than bold statements, in detail without giving us a "god" answer. I never claimed though that there would be a theory of evolution without NS, seems irrelevant to the topic, I'm not supposing it was meant as a straw man, so I take it immaterially.

You actually have something in common with my wife: she identifies as bisexual, too.

The Kinsey report on human sexuality is similar with the suggestion that there is at least some propensity of same sex attraction in human beings per 96% of the general population if my memory serves me correct on that study. But never the less, the results do lean toward Freud's idea that all human beings are inherently bi-sexual with culture repressing and oppressing those natural ways of life.
Moreover some fundamentalist religious folks will tell you that homosexuality doesn't really exist in the animal kingdom, where our closest primate relative the Bonobo with a similar empathy gene and empathy related brain structures they share with no primate but humans TOTALLY BLOWS THIS IDEA OUT OF THE WATER, as Bonobos use homosexual and heterosexual sex to resolve conflicts in a natural way avoiding violence and living very peacefully.

The level of homophobia in the world is easily explained by this as so many men are obsessed with their penises and the penises of other guys, when women don't give a crap overall what size they are unless they are gross looking per aesthetics.
I consider myself 100% heterosexual, however I cannot preclude the possibility that my Vagina only interest is not associated with a region I grew up in, that considered same sex attraction as an hell fire offense.
But never the less, the Kinsey report does suggest that a small percentage of human beings are Hetero only and perhaps folks like me are the ones with the real problems in life, as it's truly NOT NORMAL, IRONICALLY, PER THE RESEARCH THAT does EXIST, PER HETERO ONLY LEANING FOLKS.
AND the women in dance clubs now, do not hide their attraction to women anymore as delicate feminine girls do the bootie dance with other girls freely to the horror of some homophobic dudes, that think the world is coming to an end now that they have set their basic human natural propensities free in a culture that yes, overall does accept it in big dance clubs, in metro areas, now. But no still, overall, not for men in non-homosexual clubs, the last hold-out of one of the greatest human illusory fears, it seems, yes, so ironically it seems in the grand scheme of human being and Mother Nature True aka GOD too.
