As an aside, Ramadan is not during this time of year generally. It was a couple months ago, but it changes every year because the Muslims can't keep accurate time.

I prefer Happy Holidays, just because not everyone you run into celebrates Christmas. Sometimes, when someone says "Merry Christmas" to me, I want to reply, "I don't celebrate Christmas, I celebrate Kwanzaa."

I prefer happy holidays for a very pragmatic reason: The holidays start and thus I won't see most of the usual suspects until the next year, thus Schöne Feiertage means Merry $whateveryoucelebrate and a happy new year. Since there are several bank holidays during this time, it should not insult those who do not have a religious celebration at that time.

I like saying Winter Solstice just to see peoples reactions, or "Clocksmas" in honor of Santa Clocks. (Long story involving a small forum I go to involving a hacker named Clockface)

I say "Happy Holidays" for the sole and singular purpose of spiting that miserable douche Bill O'Reilly.
