I always thought it was bad to see people jogging in high pollution areas,seems like you'd be sucking all those hydrocarbons right down deep into your lungs.
It's possible,I don't see how pollution could benefit any living being.

(Sigh) And autism was supposed to be caused by vaccinations. The theory that autistics were Neanderthal descendants was popular in some circles not long ago. While it's obvious that breathing in pollutants can't be good for anyone, forgive me if I'm skeptical about a link to autism.

I wonder if anyone will ever do a study on how much money is being wasted on all these studies, almost ALL of which are inconclusive.

It's tiring. It really is.

8O I haven't heard that one. I did hear that just about everyone with a northern European heritage has some Neanderthal DNA swimming in the gene pool.

I was never breastfed and I still turned out to be autistic. You can't say something you can't prove when there is at least one thing that is proof of contradicting your theory.

Actually, all Non-African populations have a degree of Neanderthal and other archaic human genetic heritage. This is due to the "out of Africa" migration, in which older populations were out bred by, and absorbed by anatomically modern humans.
North Europeans, though, are believed to have a high degree of Cro Magnon ancestry, as the first modern humans of Ice Age Europe had migrated northward from their homes in northern Spain and southern France as the glaciers had receded, and so followed the herds of reindeer (their primary food source) northward. Haplogroup subclade I, which is thought to be representative of Cro Magnons, is very common in North European countries.

For what it's worth, I also thought the article was stupid.

Oh well that makes things clearer. Countless deceased famous figures have been suspected of having Aspergers and/or autism. We have very very little knowledge of their personal lives so there is no way to tell without building a time machine and going back in time to observe their daily lives. Those suspicions could be flukes for all we know.

I find it hard to believe ALL of those people are on the spectrum. I don't know if this is helpful or hurtful to the image of autistics and Aspies. I wouldn't be surprised if ALL Celebs, Historical Figures, etc. made the list. Does this make us not so special or way too special? I was more comfortable when the list was short and sweet. I don't know; maybe it's just me.
