What toy did you really want, only to receive it and think "hang on, this sucks" and throw the toy under your bed?

This article mentions Furby's. My sister had one. It was annoying because there was no off switch and it talked constantly. The only way you could stop it is to take the batteries out.
From what i heard the new furby's don't have off switches either.

I don't know how many times my Rubik's cube became a missile straight into the wall.
The most I ever got on that thing was 2 sides.

The Etch-a-Sketch was also rather useless.

I quite liked that, but it desperately lacked a means to lift the scribe off the screen so you ended up with an unwanted line between everything you drew.

Sea Monkeys. I saw the ad and wanted them for years. The ads were in comic books and the sea monkey family looked like little creatures with a little house and all that. Like they were similar to humans. My mother and grandmother told me no, but finally my grandfather sent off for them. They didn't do anything. Apparently they were brine shrimp and might turn into some shrimplike thing eventually, but all I saw for a couple weeks was just floating s**t in the water. We flushed them.

X-Ray vision glasses. Another mail order from the back of the comic book. Didn't work either. Just plastic lenses with grooves cut in them.

I had a 101 Dalmatians Giga Pet and it would go off every few minutes and I didn't even know that until I took it with me in public and we saw Flubber and people got mad at me about it. I could not turn that damn thing off. I liked the toy but it went off I abandoned it and the battery eventually died. I am not sure what I did with it.

Those things are creepy.

Someone gave me a virtual pet once. I dismantled it because it wouldn't shut up about food when I was trying to sleep.
