Denial can be the initial response to the acceptance of endless information. Denial can also be justified by very real circumstance. Also, I'm just a bit terrified to see this kind of disrespect pointed specifically at young people - I'll repeat it, some of my friends' grandmothers smoke weed. There's no reason for your generation to have a monopoly on respect. You can call my clothes ugly and say I smell bad until you're hired to replace Bill O'Reilly, but that doesn't mean that A: I can afford new clothes B: can afford a shower every day C: I am lazy and undereducated.

I'm a medical marijuana patient and I'm willing to bet I'm a better programmer than you; not to say I was a better student. Living in a healthy economy means respecting the good name of people who work around you, and you're enforcing a pointless divide rather than doing anything about it if you're decrying routine occurrences within large populations.
