True but employment bias is a different matter. I think race based quotas for colleges should be replaced by more scholarships for lower SES kids who show academic excellence but who don't have the finances to continue to higher education. I don't think affirmative action should be used to let an average black kid get into college ahead of a slightly above average white kid.


Actually, plenty of poor kids, regardless of race, had been able to go to college on PELL Grants, including yours truly. :)

Getting rid of affirmative action isn't turning back the clock, you need to stop living in the 1960s and understand that these colleges aren't segregated or in anyway discriminatory to letting in minorities at this point. Social promotion is a straight toxic idea which has cheapened the value of a college education, pushing all kids in general into college is incredibly stupid idea that makes these degrees worthless. There needs too be more vocational training, kids should be leaving high school with marketable skills but right now they're not even leaving with the needed academic ones for college for a degree that will put them possibly in six figures of debt with no guarantee of a job. That is straight up slavery. Person A that scores better who is more qualified should get in over person B who didn't, period end of story. It shouldn't matter what color, sex, or whatever Person A or B are.

It's not the 1970's any longer, despite the left's efforts at keeping us there. We had a two term black president. It's time to put the 20th century behind us.

Instead, their knowledge of the world is based on their bigotry and ignorance. You're not going to find many Holocaust deniers, or Islamophobes who think Hindus worship Allah among the educated.

We had a two term black President who the right had constantly tried to prove was illegitimate through ridiculous conspiracy theories that he was foreign born (a lie which the current President had built his political career on), or that he was a Muslim (even if he was, that's not illegal), or that he had engaged in homosexual acts while in college (still not illegal). And the significant thing is, Obama was just one African American to reach the White House. I can imagine the screeches and howls from the right if Cory Booker ran in 2020.

The blatant hatred towards white males on the right is plainly obvious. The agenda to get white male americans to racially hate white male americans has been quite successful. It's obvious that the left wants to stomp them out of existence. Not that I care. I just find it kinda interesting.

Every degree that is produced henceforth of receiving yours lessens it's value, they are making college a second high school that you have go into debt for the rest of your life.

None of what you are whining about is relevant whatsoever, affirmative action serves no purpose and is a form of racial discrimination. There should be equality, race should not be even a factor when applying the college, that is what Dr King would of wanted.

College and education in general is about jobs and preparing people for the real world not indoctrinating the youth. I think there is a lot of Marxist fat that needs to be cut, these useless professors shouldn't be able to make a living teaching drivel like "Beyonce studies". Real class by the way, look it up.

How about you folks stop crying about how "poor white people" are oppressing you with their 'ignorant ways'(that's not racist for sure) and start looking at the Wall Street titans that control the Democratic party?

And those Wall Street titans don't control the Republican party, too? Our current President is buddies with those bastards. Not that long ago, when Mitt Romney ran against Obama, the Republican line was that anyone complaining about being shorted by the rich and powerful were guilty of class envy.
I never advocated classes that are uselessly ridiculous, like Beyonce Appreciation 101. I advocate learning just for the sake of learning while learning some vocation. That way, a person can be well rounded in understanding the worth of the arts, history, and sciences, as well as a better understanding of the world they live in.
Contrary to what the right claims, whites are not being booted in droves out of college in favor of blacks. That's a crumb Trump and his racist dwarf, Jeff Sessions, are throwing out to their alt Right and redneck supporters.
By the way, I am a poor white man, despite my higher education. I do not, nor have I ever, demonized all poor white men - just the kind that revel in their own bigotry and ignorance.

I don't agree with discriminating against anyone, straight, white, conservative, Christian, cisgender males born on native American soil included. I may not agree with conservative opinions, but they're still human beings and should be treated as such. You can't be against discrimination and say that it's OK to discriminate against one particular group, even if that particular group has a track record of being discriminatory towards other groups. It's called taking the high road.

Yep getting whites to hate whites for being white who aren't leftist liberal types. I think they've been talked into wanting to see their own race become the formost minority with white conservatives ceasing to exist altogether. Which is fine by me.
