Not sure of this is all that bad ... an 18 year old New Zealand teen (hacker alias Akill - real name Owen Walker or Willson) created a ~1 million strong network on Zombie PCs (a botnet), has Asperger's syndrome.

They usually prosecute hackers of this ilk, then give them a job after they serve their time.

This is what the papers say...

"...has Asperger syndrome, which is often characterised by social isolation but great intelligence"

"...Asperger's syndrome, a mild form of autism often characterised by social isolation but great intelligence and talent in a particular area."

"Friends and employers have praised Walker as a brilliant computer programmer and the police national electronic crime laboratory manager, Maarten Kleintjes, said he was "very, very bright in terms of his ability to be able to produce that sort of code."

Funny, I heard on TV yesterday, that after he was arrested he was "very helpful" and told the police everything regarding how he created his botnet, thus, I thought he might be an Aspie because truthfulness is an aspie trait.
