This is a thread to say goodbye. I dont know when I will come back. Perhaps when I feel better about my life.

It is nothing against anyone here, it is just that.. well, I kind of feel weird here. I am aspie like everyone else but I have never really felt like people here are like me.

I kind of feel like a kindergarten child amongst older kids, I have problems sort of keeping up with things. I can have fun here and join in with jokes and post pictures and write down facts and opinions, but that is about the only way I really know how to socialise with people, anything else makes my brain freeze up. I have met a lot of aspies but I never seem to meet ones like me, and I dont know why that is.

I also feel that I need to spend less time on the internet because let me put it this way, I have a lot to sort out in my life and I am not sure how I am going to do this, but I do know that somehow, getting too involved in internet stuff makes me neglect other parts of my life that need attention, and if I dont do something about it, things will get a whole lot worse for me.

I will hang around for another couple of days. Anyway thanks for everything.

C
~

You will be missed. I like your gentle encouragement and your contributions. I hope you figure things out like you want to. I've considered stepping away, too.

Although I'm new to this forum and haven't had the opportunity to have a discussion with you, I found some of your posts to be very thought provoking and I wish you the best of luck for the future.

I really haven't got anything against you. In fact, if anything, I'd be tending towards the positive rather than the negative.

Thank you guys, you are all very sweet for posting what you have posted. (((((((((hug))))))))))))) I think I will come back at some point. But summer is coming, and it would be nice to step away from the technology and actually do something with the summer (I cant think of what though).

And my cat hates me being on the computer, she keeps jumping on it when she sees me on it. She pressed F7 before and it asked me if I wanted to change to a keyboard cursor.

Another time she stood on a key which opened Firefox Help, which, amusingly, had a picture of a cartoon cat on it.... : ) .

Remember, 'Aspie' is just a label so you needn't feel like you should be like everyone else here. Obviously there is a greater chance of you relating to them than other people but people vary wildly even within specific demographics. Good luck with your forum hiatus. Oh, and it's not unusual for Cats to be attention whores! :P

Thanks, yes I guess it is true that we are all different. I just feel extra different and I cant put my finger on why.

Yeah, my cat was all over me before. Now she is outside hunting flies. So I think she has fulfilled her attention quota now...

You're too cool for school. That must be why.

I dont think it is that. I dont know. My theory on it is that the board has a large proportion of introverts, mainly INTJ and INTP, and also it is made up of other introverts such as INFP, ISTJ etc. Culturally this board is dominated by Rationals.

Not that this a bad thing, this is actually a great thing, it makes it a very entertaining place.

But my personality differs a lot from this and I find it hard to relate to people in some ways, and I feel sometimes I am having the opposite problems to many people here.

I dont know, that is the best way I can explain it.

Well, personally it seems that you have your mind set about this. I understand the feeling as I know some people in my area with a diagnosis or not and they don't act like me, though after consideration I'd presumed that not all of us are the same as we can differ from one to the next. Hope the future is bright and that you return as it's a shame to lose members.

Thank you, both of you for your good wishes. : ) Hope you have a great summer/winter too. : )

Yeah I have attended aspie groups too. I went to one when I was living overseas and the people there were unspeakably awesome.

And it is not that the people here arent awesome, it is more that I am at a strange stage of my life right now.

Let me put it this way, I was 30 when I joined and since then a lot of things my life have changed. I am not really the same person as I was back then. I had a lot of problems back then but in many ways I was still so carefree and happy. But now I cant really say that.

I know what you mean. Life will change for us all when we are ready and we sometimes have to change ourselves to better understand our way of life. I'm not religious by any means, I just know that our bad and good experiences will balance out.
