Strange song. There are good melodies but then these jarring intrusions. Where did the Jamaica Steel band come from ?

Generally i like 'strange' songs but I could enjoy 'normal' songs also. It depends on the mood. :)
Sorry but I don't understand your question and I'm not sure it was for me.

This might sound strange too but I find it very emotional:

But anyway I don't expect others to like my songs. They have a meaning for me because they remember about my life and feelings, for others can be just a weird combination of noises.

I thought that was actually a very good song. I liked the way it kept on progressing. In the beginning it reminded me of what dreams are like. I don't think I have anything as good on my current playlist.

The Steel band question was a just a joke really. I was like 'what is that?' and then realized it was steel drums. Just unexpected.

This is a moody sort of song that just grew on me.

I like strange songs sometimes. Like you say very mood driven. I also like weird-humorous ones, though its like the 3 stooges of music. Like these Russian guys. The guy with the mandolin or whatever it is just cracks me up.

Caustic: "Mmm Papscraper, I Love You."

After thoroughly punching my computer desk due to some lag issues, I was in the mood for some absurdist industrial music. Once again, Matt Fanale, you've come through with some pretty hilarous material.

EDIT: I wasn't even aware someone uploaded this to YouTube (It was quite difficult to find with several other bands named Caustic).

GENESIS BANDS

Being able to pick a single band as the originator of a specific genre is very difficult, but these two bands are certainly close to the big bang that spawned current music trends.

Can - The Thief (Germany 1968)

Can was an experimental rock group that influenced an impressive list of following trends, including avant-garde, experimental, underground, ambient, punk, post-punk, new wave and electronic music. Another interesting song is 'Moonshake', but the links I had were all taken down.

The Sonics - Strychnine (USA 1964)

The Sonics are one of the original Garage Rock bands and heavily influenced trends that would become Grunge and Punk.

"Majak" by Eisenfunk.

The song is about the incident at the Mayak Processing Facility on 29 September 1957, which caused over 400,000 people to be exposed to unsafe levels of radiation (though the number of deaths recorded was quite low at approximately 55).
