The '60s! Yikes. That was when Dylan was starting out. The grass was, actually, much greener then (not euphemistically speaking) because there were far fewer chemical contaminants in the water supplies and major watershed areas, and the forests were much larger because the massive urban expansion that has since occurred was yet to really get under way.
Ah, and Jethro Tull was just getting started, as well. Ian Anderson, after whom I'm named, took up the Flute in the early '60s, but the band didn't get any real recognition until the late '60s. They still qualify, I think. I also think I was born in the wrong generation. Music these days makes me sad.
Don't be sad! if you don't like today's music, you should look (and listen!) around some more. There's SO MUCH out there, in every genre, and more that couldn't possibly be put into a genre at all. I bet you'd find something you'd like if you went exploring!
