I went to the annual Herb Festival, again, this year, and I got in for FREE cuz I got there so late!! They had a petting zoo----which, of course, I can never get enough of----and, a good Rock band, and a VERY good Blue-Grass band. I walked, and walked, and WALKED, and that was alot of fun, TOO! The only bad part was I didn't get to ride the Choo-choo, cuz I got to talkin' to a gentlemen in the blue-grass band, and missed the last go-round----but, I HAD SOOOO MUCH FUN!! !!

sashimi

I hear you. :)
Relatedly, I just discovered shōjin ryōri, a related form of Kaiseki. Japanese cuisine being a special interest I am very pleased.

Interesting, I had to look that up as I'd never heard of it. I used to really like cooking. I should like to get back into it at some point, but stores are pretty limited for selection around here in the desert if trying to make much for anything Japanese outside onigiri.

I really like sashimi because it's so impossibly simple, yet to me, is far more tasty and flavorful than anything else among local food flavors. I also have countless food sensitivities, and most fish aren't on the list of those... Though, soy is :/

Today is my husband's birthday. He loved the MAD book and Portal 2 P-Body figurine that I got him.

My daughter's boyfriend (who looks like a young David Tennant) prancing around the kitchen pretending to be a unicorn.

Today I went to the Salvador Dali museum in St. Pete and it was amazing finding a new perspective of his art. He had a really funny 'stache, loved his wife a lot, and many of his paintings had multiple images overlapping into each other giving a whole lot of meaning to "a picture is worth more than a 1000 words".
I also visited Snell Isle a large complex of mansions where my family lived before my nana died.
More good food.
And I am finally home.

Kept crossing paths with another staff member today who I spent some time working with recently. Every time she saw me, she gave me a cute little wave. It made me smile.

Same-sex marriage legislation looks like its going to be introduced into the Australian federal parliament again, some time next week. :D

It's been tried and defeated once before, but more and more parliamentarians have been changing their minds and supporting it over the last couple of years.

Similar bills had been shelved earlier this year due to lack of support in Parliament. Now though, it's the Opposition Leader who is introducing this latest same-sex marriage bill. Hot on the heels of the recent Irish referendum, his co-sponsoring of the bill should give it a better shot at being passed into law.

This could all finally happen this year ... or not.

Still, here's hoping. :thumleft:
