For me, I think everyone misunderstands me. They assign intent to things I say and do when there is none, ascribe traits to me that simply don't exist, and quite often what I say is taken far more harshly than I intended for it to be.

Frequently.

Quite often, in many ways.

I feel I'm misunderstood a lot. People sometimes misunderstand/misinterpret what I say or the way I act & I very frequently have to explain why I'm doing things the way I'm doing em to my parents & when I do; my mom sometimes gets frustrated with me & says I'm being difficult or she calls me retorted

Do you think there's a core cause for this?

If anything...maybe just my weirdness though sometimes the way I come across or the way I put things into words. I don't really know.

I'm pretty sure I'm misunderstood because people just can't accept that I'm as straight-forward as I am. I suppose since I'm generally a quiet person, when I talk people expect there to be some deeper, hidden meaning behind what I say.

Over the internet, I'm often seen as harsher than I really am. By contrast, in person I'm often seen as kinder and gentler than I really am.

Every time I tell the truth on a coherent and concise manner. Examples:
  • "Eat less and exercise more to lose weight." -- Readers think that I'm accusing them of being gluttonous and/or lazy.
  • "Self-diagnosis is pointless without expert confirmation." -- People think that I'm accusing them of being hypochondriacs and/or poseurs.
  • "There is no valid material evidence to support faith-based claims." -- People think that I'm calling them deceitful and/or delusional.
  • "You are more attractive than you think." -- People think that I'm either lying to make them feel good, or that I'm just another dirty old man hitting on them with a cheesy pick-up line.

100% of the time. I might not be misunderstood that much of the time, but my mind thinks it's like that.

100% of the time. At least four times a day.

There's a reason I stay silent most of the time.

People judge your intent based on themselves and evaluate your body language and vocal tone to get what you really mean. One way around it is to repeat or summarize what you already told them to emphasize your meaning.

99% of the time.
But it is honestly my fault, I tend to say what I don't mean, and don't say what I should. My mouth just wont permit it at times, it just gets confused. Urg.

I used to do this a lot. People started getting irritated and would say things like "I got it the first time!" and "No need to repeat yourself, I'm not a child." I was also made fun of for being repetitive. I suppose, to compensate, I employed my poetic abilities to make things short and to the point. In retrospect, much of what I'm saying is lost in translation. These days, I find myself a bit more reflective and long winded in an effort to be better understood.

Rarely do I feel understood completely....this leads to a lot of misunderstandings.

I find people misunderstand me probably because when I say something it doesn't come out the way I want it too.
