You could experiment with becoming a photonic lifeform.

Yeah, I agree. Simple thread, simple answer. Anyone want to elaborate on this? There are lots of ways for a thread like this to go.

If it helps any... I'm not interested in procreating, and I'm a rather generous person. I sometimes cry when someone kills a spider, and my house would be an animal shelter if my mom didn't mind.

But then again, I often question whether or not I'm human.

You could try not eating or going to the toilet. Let us know how that goes.

There was once a society that lived to the high ideal of not reproducing, but for some reason they went extinct.

Don't try eating without going to the toilet, however. 8O

The same happened to the society that continually fasted, and the one that declared excretory functions a mortal sin.

The meaning of human nature changes with culture.
Human instinct is the same in every culture.

I don't believe that people are born greedy, competitive and selfish. This is learned behavior.
Human instinct comes into existence at birth. The need to eat,use the toilet and procreate is not human nature.
It is human instinct which is needed for survival.
