I have a problem with the L-Word. I find it far to comprehensive a word. It seems to encapsulate so many things, you can "love" a person; food, object, program, animal etc.

I feel that the word "Love" is overused and casual, twelve year olds in playgrounds "Love" a person, and yet next week, they are going out with someone-else.

There are just so many things you can appparently love. Within this there is a further problem. When a person says they love you, what do they mean, and what kind of love are they referring to?

TV is notoriously bad for abusing this word, concept etc. A particularly bad soap opera had one character "Love" four women, each one being told that they were "The One". The one what, the one they are currently sleeping with but will soon dump for another "One"?

I feel very uncomfortable and insecure using this word, it means a different thing to each person and feel it is unrelible and is misleading if said to someone else.

Is it just me who feels that it is a dangerous word corrupting society and should be removed from common usage unless it is clearly known what it means?

Ok, serious time. I agree with you there MelancholyBunny. It especially annoys me when people say they 'love' inanimate objects for some reason, or ask if I do. NO MOTHER I DON'T LOVE OUR HOUSE, JEEZ!

I love Routemasters, and nothing will change that, except for my own Death.

I get annoyed with people who say their pet "Luvs" them. I have tried, without success to explain this to the Missus, regarding our birds. They might like you, they certainly are OK with receiving food and affection from you, but I really don't think animals "Luv" us. They are animals, and have a very different view of the world. To be accurate, they respect us, trust us, care about us, but don't "Luv" us.

There is no doubt that the term 'love' is used much more loosely these days than it used to be. Everything is love. And now this 'luv' crap. So detatched. The only love I expect to find is on some Hallmark card. Ie/ commercialized crap.

I hate the word luv it's LOVE GODAMNIT!! !!

I also hate "young luv" and all that girlfriend/boyfriend s**t, where you HAVE to fancy or HAVE to at least to HAVE to HAVE or Had a girlfriend/boyfriend.

Sorry for the emphasis on HAVE, but most (not all) NTs are riddled with cliches, and if you "don't follow the rules" with them you are considered a weirdo."

No offense guys.

If I've offended, Apologies from me.
