I have a problem with the L-Word. I find it far to comprehensive a word. It seems to encapsulate so many things, you can "love" a person; food, object, program, animal etc.
I feel that the word "Love" is overused and casual, twelve year olds in playgrounds "Love" a person, and yet next week, they are going out with someone-else.
There are just so many things you can appparently love. Within this there is a further problem. When a person says they love you, what do they mean, and what kind of love are they referring to?
TV is notoriously bad for abusing this word, concept etc. A particularly bad soap opera had one character "Love" four women, each one being told that they were "The One". The one what, the one they are currently sleeping with but will soon dump for another "One"?
I feel very uncomfortable and insecure using this word, it means a different thing to each person and feel it is unrelible and is misleading if said to someone else.
Is it just me who feels that it is a dangerous word corrupting society and should be removed from common usage unless it is clearly known what it means?
