I have. My mum tells me that I have a lot of s**t. Her words, not mine.

Oh, like a collector, or someone who keeps things 'in case I need it someday'?

I am more involved in things, as opposed to people or ideas.

No, I'm more of a people person than a things person......only I prefer characters in fictional novels to people in the real world.

Well me too.....I am a collector and attached to things....books and stuffed animals......

I still think I'm more a people/animal person than a things person though.

That's a different term there "things person" as opposed to "animal person" or "people person"?
I love animals and i do love certain inanimate posessions of mine like my games, bikes, skateboards, and my truck.

No one has ever directly called me a "things" person, but I sometimes refer to myself as such, and I'm sure others have made the same observation. My interests are computers, programming, mathematics, science, philosophy, and language. I guess you could call me an "ideas" person as well, or rather a "things and ideas" person.

I have, and it was meant as a barb--not necessesarily an insult, but pointing to what the sayer considered a character flaw. I personally consider it to be just a character trait. I sometimes enjoy my photographs of my kids as much or more than I enjoy the kids themselves (notice, I didn't say I love the pictures more than the kids--the kids come first).

My mother calls me a simple person (simple meaning a person who enjoys the "small things" and isn't a fan of the usual modern trappings of the majority).

Not really a things person, nor a people person.
