In the US, there are regional variations as to whether it's called pop, soda, coke or whatever.

Apparently the Midwest and Northwest prefers pop, the South prefers coke, the Northeast, Missouri and California prefer soda.

[quote="Gilb"]A- "Bang"
B- Factorial

Not sure what "bang" is, but we have factorials in the US. Like this, right: 3!

A- parenthesis
B- Brackets

In the US, parentheses are these: ( ), while brackets are these: [ ]

Both those words are used in the US, and I assume in Britain, too. They mean slightly different things, they're not the same word.

A - A middle-eastern country
B - first person conjugate of the verb 'to rack'

My Middle Eastern professor clarified to me years ago that it is supposed to be pronounced "Ear Rock" and "Ear Ron". They say every time 'W' mispronounces them, another jihadist is born.

I call it coke, but my mom calls it pop. Then again, she's originally from Wisconson and I'm originally from Texas...
Eeesh, I think that's an entirely regional thing... around here, I usually hear it called "soft drinks".

Using coke as a generic word for soft drink is a very southern thing... Sodie works too, if you're a real inbred hillbilly. :wink:
