They all were on Saturday mornings in the late 70's. The first one was called "The Red Hand Gang" and was about a group of kid detectives that used a red handprint as a symbol.

The other two shows I loved, but can't remember the names of. Does anyone else remember?

One was a group of teens who fought crime and traveled in a van. Inside the van was their pet shark. The shark was kind of like a giant puppet that lived in a tank in their van and he talked and advised them on what to do.

The other show took place in a wax museum. But instead of it being wax dummies there were actual monsters, a vampire, werewolf, mummy and one other monster who would come to life at night after the tourists went home. Then they would assist this boy in solving crimes and fighting criminals.

I may have seen the last show you're asking about. Did the boy also have a sidekick with a minor role, that was not wax but an always-alive animal of some kind (a parrot maybe)? It was live-action, right? This is so vague to me because I probably didn't see the show more than two or three times (I might've had diversions from TV at the time).

The second one, I'm not sure. Was it live-action (you mentioned a puppet) or was it a cartoon?

I do not recall the 1970's shows that you mentioned. It's a strange thing because I watched a number of kids shows from the 1970's.

I don't remember the Red Hand Gang, I don't think I ever heard of it.

A few of the kids shows from the 1970's that I watched were Scooby Doo, Tom and Jerry (the one's from 1970's), New Zoo Revue, Patchwork Family and there were a few others which I cannot recall right now.

OMG. I remember the cartoon version of Journey to the Center of the Earth during the late 60s or so. Roger Ramjet around 68 or 69. And the Mighty Heroes(Tornado Man, Strong Man, Diaper Man, etc) during the early 60s. There was also HR Pufinstuf and Curiousity Shop back around 1970.

When I was little I wanted to marry H.R. Puffenstuff. Seriously I thought he would be my husband.

I also loved the show Sigmund and the Sea Monster. Don't laugh, but at the time I thought the sea monsters were terrifying to even look at. (I was only 3)Here's a pic...really he was terrifying the way he flopped around and had that dangling tooth. REALLY!

Edit I just found some of the shows- check this out- and see that I wasn't hallucinating on this-

The shark in the van show was Kids from C.A.P.E.R.

Here's some other faves- Electra Woman and Dyna Girl..live action. Had Deidre Hall and Judy Norton as the leads. I even had the View Master. Major fan.

Also loved the Mighty Isis & Shazam live action show.

Another show I loved but can't remember name. I think it was made by the Kroft studio. These teenagers go on a boat trip to this island and get kidnapped by a mad scientist. Somehow he shrinks them and they run around all tiny and trying to escape the evil scientist. I remember the show opener always showed one of the guys running through a keyhole. It was live action. Only lasted one or two seasons.

The Boomerang channel, a spin-off of Cartoon Network, is devoted entirely to classic cartoons.

Don't know of the shows mentioned in original post. Was fan of "Space Academy" (1977), though I barely remember it now, since it was on when I was 4 ! Just looked it up & found entry on the show:
http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0075585/
Also watched (live action) "Captain Marvel" though unsure whether it was actual show or just filler between programming (think it was reduced to that in later years). I insisted on calling him "Captain Marble", not "Marvel". Also was confused as to whether his name was "Shazam !" instead, since that exclamation seemed to keep cropping up.
"Isis" was another one of my favorite shows at that age.
Enjoyed "The Bloodhound Gang" on PBS's "3-2-1 Contact", though that segment of show was always too short. Drives me bats seeing "to be continued", meaning I won't get answer until next day or next week.

I was never sure if his name was Shazam or something else. I remember in school everyone running around the playground yelling "Shazam!" with their arms held to the sky.

There was another briefly aired live action show for Captain America. I thought he was the coolest and loved his van. How come all the cool crime fighters had vans back then?

I think I remember Space Academy. Do you remember Space 1999 that was a British show they aired in US in early 70's? There was also another good space show Ark II that had the monkey in it.

I grew up in the 80s, but I remember watching The Bugaloos and Sigmund and the Sea Monsters in Spanish.
