THE IRISH PHILOSOPHY

there are always two things to worry about

either you are well or you are sick

If you are well,

there's nothing to worry about

If you are sick,

there are two things to worry about

either you will get well or you will die

If you get well,

there's nothing to worry about

If you die,

there are two things to worry about

either you will go to Heaven or Hell

If you go to Heaven,

there's nothing to worry about

If you go to Hell,

you'll be so busy shaking the hands of your friends,

YOU WON'T HAVE TIME TO WORRY!

Bibo ergo sum? I thought "cognito ergo sum" was bad enough. We might as well have:

Voco ergo sum. Ambulo ergo sum. Video ergo sum. Et cetera ad infinitum...

One I came up with today is: Creavit Deus ergo sumus.

my thought on the philosophy i posted is that this is to be taken with a pinch of salt as to say all of us irish are druns is grossly over stating it how ever for a country of our size there are proble more drunks here than anywhere else.(this also counts people whocan haddle thier drink as wellas the pther who can't)

Several countries in Europe have drink problems, but while the consumption of alcohol per person has steadily decreased in Italy and France it's gotten much higher in Ireland. The Irish drinking stereotype used to be not wholly justified given the figures but those figures have rised rapidly and people seem to revel in that image.

most of my philosiphies on being Irish involves Irish humor, for example how confrontational it is. i dunno who first said "Who does the f**k does this guy think he is?" but it wouldn't surprise me if he was Irish.

also how the way the Irish tell a joke is getting a few drinks with friends, we start talking and then EVENTUALLY we say something funny.

the "gift of gab" is a nice way of saying we don't know when to shut the f**k up.
