I'm not one given to spending gratuitous amounts of time on the Woe-Is-Me train...
But every so often I just get beat down by events and my already piss-poor atitude.
So I am determined to make 2009 better than 2008 ended:
I got laid of December 19th (thankyouverymuch California),
I am having these "lumps" on my neck biopsied next month (fingers crossed),
My parents won't seem to take my calls anymore (WTF?),
Nearly lost my mom to breast cancer,
My best friend moved to Sacramento,
Proposition 8 passed (thankyouverymuch California)

Sheesh!

Not everything was horrible:
I had the best surprise 40th birthday EVER,
The holidays didn't suck,
I haven't had (knock on wood) a cold yet this season,
I got diagnosed then decided I didn't have Asperger's.

Anyone wanna recap their year?

2008, IdahoRose style:

The Good:
Turned 18
Broadened my horizons to enjoy more anime
Started sewing as a hobby
Earned the trust and friendship of a very skittish kitty
Grew closer to my younger brother and his best friend, whom I also consider a brother

The Bad:
Got the stomach flu 6 times
Got colds countless times
My mom had to start going to work again (thanks, economy!)
My mom, dad, brother and I had to move into a house with my sister, her husband and their kids
Got a couple of prospective boyfriends and lost them

The Ugly:
Me, when I don't do my hair or put on makeup.

Can't think of much but I'm happy overall (:

Bad:
1.- Had no job for two months (I quit), but now I haz new one and hopefully even better, so all the better. God provides (:
2.- School debt was killing me (but I finally paid it).

Good:
1.- Bought an iMac, which arrived on my birthday BTW :D
2.- Bestest birthday EVARR, period.
3.- Made new friends at WP :D

=*

*Thinks*
Good:
Still alive
All three friends are still alive
Gemma cat came into my life
Got a new pair of ratties
Still have internet
Re-discovered the Maury show
Some people actually liked my crappy poetry
Got Vegas Pro (& figured out how to use it)

Bad:
Still alive
RL friend is still severly depressed
So am I
Except when I'm having bouts of not feeling anything at all
Still mourning my other ratties
Family still on the poor side of things (Middle class? Whats that? )
Mother still won't get rid of her idiot of a "boyfriend" or his kid
Mother's idiot "boyfriend" lost his job
Nothing has really changed (and therefor, everything pretty much sucks.)

Good: I still have a job (such as it is)
Haven't been divorced
got a new truck

Bad: have to re-apply for my job next year, in the middle of the worst recession since '83.
Lost (or had to sell) - trailer, all books, CDs, LPs', musical equipment. To keep food on the
table. Have on actual home, living with my kids. Have a home until June, when the lease is
up. That's enough for now....

Good:
The nice people over in Cogito who put up with what might be called "borderline trolling" (i.e. asking desperately for help)
Change of obsession
Connection with younger sibling 1 (classic autie+giftie)

Bad:
A partial split of personality (not MPD, just... how do I explain it?)
Dramatic deterioration in relations with younger sibling 2 (NT)

bad: I realized I'm hopeless and will never have a social life.
I became severely addicted to caffeine.
And I've become annoyed with the few friends I have and now they hate me just like everyone else.
good: I built a computer.
I found caffeine helps with anxiety problems.
I've began learning to program.

bad:
- couldn't survive highschool, had to attend an alternative school.
- the alternative school wouldn't accept that me being quiet, lack of eye contact, getting angry when someone sits in "my seat", fiddling with objects for hours, etc. was just me... not a drug problem or something I could take meds for and fix and I had to leave there, too.
- isolated myself even further, became extremely depressed...

good:
- started homeschooling, went much easier on me.
- discovered the wonders of anti depressants.
- got my first car, hope learning to drive goes okay this year.

looking forward to in 2009:

- learning to drive.
- getting a diploma.
