I found a new one that I LOVE! It's from Bath and Body Works, called Rio Rumberry.

I hate the scent of most perfumes, and usually even ones I like on tester paper smell awful on my skin... I have weird chemistry.

But I do love Marc Jacob's Oh, Lola! and my boyfriend bought me a bottle of it.
He wears one of the Burberry colognes for men, and it's wonderful.

I love when men wear Old Spice deodorant, because my grandfather wore that. It was always one of my favorite childhood smells. I would go into his bathroom & take the cap off & just sniff it repeatedly. I once dated a very androgynous girl who wore it, and I would sniff her armpits LOL.

American Beauty is my all-time favorite (smells like pink roses)

And lately, I like Ralph Lauren's Wild.

Chanel 19, and a couple that Leslie Blodgett came out with (from Bare Escentuals). I keep it very light though, because my husband is sensitive to a lot of scents.

Every time I "find" a scent I can do, it gets DISCONTINUED.

I also use the crystal deodorant (but not because of non-perfume) because it's the only one that works for me. I can get REALLY BAD b/o between showers (& that's when I'm running low on Zinc). So then I take a Z supplement & get ok again.

I really love Givenchy Very Irresistible L'Intense, but it's hard to find here.
As a backup (and completely different type of fragrance!), Chanel No.19 is pretty amazing too.

I found a lovely very soft citrus-y - rose scented lotion with all natural ingredients that is called uriel, radiant day lotion. It's a bit expensive but really nice as a treat. :) It is, so far, the only scent that doesn't give me a headache.

Miami Glow by J.Lo

It got taken off the market but I used extracts to replicate it, which turned out to be a good idea because now it doesn't annoy my nose or skin as much. Really like the smell of it, it smells like home to me.

I worked in fine fragrance for several years and now I can't imagine how I did it. Many synthetic scents are repulsive to me. (The worst is being next to someone who's wearing something that is wrong for their body chemistry.) I've seen the formulas for many perfumes and they're mostly a chemical soup. Essential oil blends are more appealing. There are some good natural perfumers on Etsy.

Perfume that's too expensive. But I'm growing my own herb garden and going to try and make scented oils out of lavender and lilacs.

When I get a whiff of perfume or cologne, I freak out and get really angry - it's not quite a total overload meltdown for me, but definitely effects me very negatively.

When people that I work with wear perfume, I have to work holding a tissue over my nose. When I get in an elevator where someone's left a scent, I've gotten out and taken the stairs (probably better for me to get some exercise anyway *l*). When I open public building doors, I often pull my sleeve down over my hand to open the door so I don't get someone's cologne on my hand (that can really ruin my day).

People who visit my home now have to follow the rule, no extra smells allowed. I can still smell colognes that were worn by someone in my home from 6 months ago. (No lie!)

I'm sorry. : (
No offense meant to anyone.

I wonder if anyone else has olfactory sensitivity. I've read that it can be a trait of AS / HFA, but the sensitivities I see people on here normally discussing are tastes, textures, sounds and visual sensitivities.

I do like some smells - in fact a lot. There's an essential oil called Neroli (made from orange flowers I believe) - that's nice to my nose 8) . I like the smell of fruits, especially pineapple and apples. And I love the smell of coffee.

Stuff that smells bad to other people still smells bad to me (like poop and manure) but actually don't bother me as much as perfume.....why is that?

Anyone else has this issue?

Yep - me too, you could be describing my sensitivities.
