The things that immediately come to mind:

-The sound of ice cracking and creaking underneath your boots (and the feel!)
-Our pet rats eating crunchy things
-The sound of a book being shut
-The sound of a cellphone being shut
-Music boxes
-Chickens
-Vegetables sizzling on a frying pan

I find it very interesting that so many seem to like the sounds cats make. I like cats for their independence and non-neediness. They remind me of myself, happier when alone, needs limited people contact.
There's probably no link there, but it's interesting to me all the same.

Quote:
1) The quiet sound you get early in the mornings before most people are up. It's as if you can hear the air, even though it isn't breezy. I can't describe it, but I love that sound.

I understand exactly what you're talking about, and have tried to explain this people many times but they just don't get it.
You're right, it's as if the air around you is gently whispering something soothing in your ear. You can hear it, smell it-I even see it in the way the early light forms golden halos around each individual leaf on a tree, and tints the air.
I always feel it's 'ruined' once people start getting up and moving about. No one sees the morning like I do and it makes me sad. A beautiful wonder lost in the bustle of life....

I love the sound of scissors cutting paper.

The white noise of a small fan
Nylon string guitars
The intro notes from Regular Show, ha.
Most cat noises
The pop when you unscrew something vacuum sealed jars *hears it over and over in head*
Magnets clicking together
High heels on a hard floor
Piano
A million other things.

The sound of a perfectly swished shot in basketball. The thinner the net, the better it sounds.

Gorgeous music
bicycle hub noise
planes/jets/helicopters
guns/shells hitting the floor
Ferraris
Mclaren engines
drills (not saws though)
compressed air
whistling
creaks in doors, walls, floors, etc.
pages flipping
the sound while riding in a car a night (I think it's the tires rumbling)
water running (not dripping)
scratching
trees swaying
F1 cars
traffic from a distance
birds chirping
"plops" in the water
metal baseball bats
tennis games
bells jingling
Christmas music
sandpaper rubbing wood
shoes squeaking on a b-ball court
fans
keys jingling

sounds I dislike:
metal on glass
Styrofoam squeaking
too many people talking at once
chairs/furniture being scooted across tile floors
alarms
a door slamming suddenly
sound of someone rubbing a snot filled nose
nose blowing like an elephant
screaming monkeys

FARTS!! ! - had to be one of the (if not THE) first to get this one in there. Why the low turnout on that one?... Ones with abnormal tonality especially make me happy.

- All kinds of natural sounds (animals, weather, natural phenomena and disasters, etc.)
- Most music and singing
- Subaru boxer engines with unequal-length headers
- Audi 5-cylinder engines
- Lancia Delta s4 1.8 Abarth engine with turbo+supercharge system
- Trains, especially EMD 1st and 2nd-generation diesel locomotives

...and probably lots of others...

Agreed with all of these plus:

Footsteps on a gravel road, a babbling creek (or any running water), and a fire crackling.

I also love the smell of skunks. Is that weird?
