Funny! I like to take pictures of mundane things too. Things. No people - apart from a pair of instructed workers for decorative reasons :D
My first paintings excluded eyes. Portraits with black or blue eyes, but no irises or pupils.

I don't understand what "vacant look" means? I was on another forum that's not autism related, it's basically a women's chat forum. The users on there were discussing a guy on Teen Mom and how his eyes looked crazy, like he was high on drugs, etc. They used the word "vacant" to describe it as well. I found this interesting. I would describe his eyes as crazed or shocked. He was speaking normally but with wide eyes like he was shocked.

I noticed his eyes before reading others point it out, but I guess I'm not as creeped out by them as most would be.

He doesn't look too happy. He looks like he's wrapped up (perhaps obsessed) with something.

I would always look awkward to the point where people would perhaps believe I had soiled myself at the exact moment when the photograph was taken.

I think he looks contemplative in the 1st photo
and he looks scared in the 2nd photo ( as if hes looking at the object of his fear )

Yeah, I agree that he looks scared. In the pictures he was looking at his toddler son who was playing on the floor. So his scared/shocked eyes are inappropriate.
