unfortunately I have to wait 10 weeks for the assessment, but this means I can get a profile of my strengths and weaknesses and a more solid dx.

apparently they're sending me a big wad of paperwork, including a 13 page questionnaire for my health history of things that won't be in my medical charts, so that sounds like it will keep me busy for a while.

I'm not sure where you are but I'm in the UK and from my experience neuro psychologists don't help aspies much. All I found out was I have a good IQ and rote memory but poor attention which I already knew. Hope it works out better for you.

it's really difficult in the U.S., apparently, to get a dx and assessment, so going to a neuropsychologist is the only real option.

I also just got a notification that I'm in the top priority group for vocational rehabilitation through my state, so the assessment will help determine the best route to take to get back into the workforce, plus protection under the ADA.

so I'm hopeful!

Awesome! I hope the appointment goes well. Those 10 weeks will go by fast...
