Q. How old were you when you first talked?

I was 3 and a half years old when I first started talking.... It was also so difficult because nobody could understand why I didn't speak late... My mum thought that I would never be able to talk or fit in with anybody.

Was anyone else was a late talker?

Four according to my mother. Started talking in complete sentences when I was five and talking correctly when I was six.
But I used to leaving endings off of words because I couldn't hear the words being said correctly when I hear them.

I spoke late due to hearing loss. I can hear fine now. That was probably the reason for my developmental delay too they say but I looked normal in the videos so I don't agree it was severe. I will agree my speech delay was severe.

I think I was two when I spoke my first words. I don't think I had any trouble speaking in sentences though.

I spoke my first word at 10 months. I don't know when exactly I started using sentences, but it was before age 2.

I started speaking at 1 year and 11 months, but it was not until well after 3 years of age that I began generating my own speech instead of just parroting other people.

Around 4-5 years
I had echolia too, but my mom never told me when that was. I just know that I started speaking around 4-5.

I said my first words, when I was around a year old. I said my first sentence, at the age of 4.

From what I'm told, I started talking at a normal age. It's more a matter of what I said.

Evidently, I just started using complete sentences. I was at a doctors office around the age of three when my mother asked me if I remembered the place. I said "I think I remember having been here before."

Not exactly proper grammar, but more advanced then others my age.

2 and a half. I don't remember if speech was too much of an issue for me, it was the handwriting. Even to this day I write like a second grader. Big letters where they shouldn't be, too much space taken up, and some words run together.

My mom used to force me to spend every night writing words and letters. She still puts me down for my handwriting. So basically I stopped writing things for her to see.

I must say that typing is a godsend for me.

My Mom told me I was close to non-verbal at age 6 and they were thrilled
when I started talking. After that they wished I would shut up again.
