Anyone a "Gamer?"

I found Gaming in my mid 20s. Went to a gaming convention with my hubby cause I thought it might be fun. I had never played a "real" boardgame before (aside from the typical games.) Hubby played Axis and Allies a bit, so I figured it would be like that.
Totally fell in love. Love Euro games and long strategy games. I found the people to be - different - and refreshing. They were quirky, like me. They weren't looking for small talk. I could tell most of them didn't know even how to do it. (like me.) I would sit down and ask what someone played so far - not because I wanted to be polite, but because I was interested in what others were playing.
Since then, I've found a great gaming group where I can play lots of great games all of the time. Currently I'm looking to play Through The Ages this week. Just played Brass last week. Fabulous games.
Since finding out about Aspies, it occurs to me that many of the people I have met through gaming are one of us.
Anyone else a gamer? Board-gamer or other? What do you like playing?

I used to love board games like Talisman, the kind of game you could finish in an hour with 2 players or spend all day at with 6. Not played it in years now, may have to look out a copy somewhere...

My boyfriend recently turned me on to "Myst", and I am totally, irrevocably hooked. I also attend a local board games meet-up, where a lot of delightfully quirky people show up to play things like Monopoly, Uno Spin, Apples to Oranges, Life, Trivial Pursuit, etc. Sometimes, if the group gets too big, I get overwhelmed, but I use ear plugs and take breaks.

When I hear "gamer", I think "videogamer". I am one of those. I have been known to play the odd board game, though. I prefer games like Trivial Pursuit.

Touchscreen technology is likely to lead to most of the common board games becoming virtual at some point in the near future, I think. I mean at the same scale as the originals, on a touchscreen table or similar.

I'm a gamer, as I've played D&D and other RPG's, but it's been a long time. Now, I mostly play Facebook games these days. I quit Pet Society because I was having problems with it on my obsolete computer.

I play games all the time my favourites are:
Rock band
Guitar hero

I used to play a lot of video games when I was little. I'd play a lot of games on the Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64 with my cousin. We mostly played Mario games.

These days, I hardly ever play any games. I've lost interest.

I like alot of video games for XBox360/PS2/Wii

but as for board games, i liked to play Risk with my family.
Monopoly was also a good classic that we played alot when i was younger

big video game collection (not as big as hale-bops tho, but almost!).

i also play table top RPGs (paper/dice) like dungeons and gragons. right now i am playing call of cthulhu.

I've been a gamer since my dad got our first computer with MS Dos and the old school floppy drive
Usually I get into a game and play it exclusively until I get bored with it and then move on to another one or go back to an old one.
I like board games but can never find anyone to play with.

Board gamer? no... I kind of wish I was. I'd like to get into it, but that requires... other people to play with and I know no one to do so.

Otherwise I am a video gamer. Both newer and classic games.
