I feel like I'm coming off as very self involved here on WP. I don't have anybody to talk to and I guess I need to sound things out. It's obnoxious I know and I'm sorry. I'll try to be better. Just felt the need to say that. Bleh. :hmph:

It can feel like that of course. And remember the origin of "auto" [meaning 'self'] in autism, sometimes we do crave attention and come across as being "me, me, me!" and unintentionally too, it is just in-bred.

I don't think you seem very self involved. I think your posts contribute just like the rest of ours. Most people are profoundly self involved - I am. Maybe if you feel that your posts are too much about you you could sort of do a one to one thing, where after you post something you feel is about you you post another something that's specifically aimed at helping another person.

Good points. I'm just sick of my present neediness for validation.

Everyone is preoccupied by their self--there's no need to beat oneself up over it. For what it's worth, I don't think you come across as particularly self-involved.

happymusic, that's a wonderful idea! If only we could all make the effort to do so.

Here on my screen, you and "self-involved" are not even on the same page, Aimless. We all need validation, and I would say "Well-earned!" for any you might receive here.

NO, not fair!! it's supposed to be about ME ME ME :D

But seriously, I don't think you even approach the average level of self involved here.

Maybe it feels that way to me because it's just me here, in my head. :)

I don't feel bad about being self absorbed most of the time (like how I am now talking about myself in this post and disregarding the OP)

THIS THREAD IS NOW ABOUT ME!! !! :P

You don't seem self involved, to me.

I think everyone is mostly self-involved. Some are just better at pretending not to be. Also, there's a big difference between having emotional needs and being a selfish jerk.

I agree with this.
