I've never been banned from any forums, but I did receive some warnings. I joined my very first online forum at the age of 13, and because I was at the onset of puberty, I'd sometimes post a lot of obnoxious things. I received a warning from the admin for doing something very obnoxious, but I was never banned from that forum.

On another forum, at which I only made a couple posts, I started a topic that shocked a lot of people. I didn't understand at the time that the topic I started was inappropriate - most likely because of my Asperger's  , and the admin locked the topic. I wasn't banned, though.

I was banned from an Objectivist Forum because I do not believe Ayn Rand was the greatest thinker ever born.

I joined Hikiculture back in the spring and posted a topic in the adult section and it got removed. I was pissed about it because it didn't break any rules but it was the same thread I posted here in 2007 that got me banned but there was nothing in the rules over there about bodily functions so I posted it I wasn't breaking any rules. But people complained about it in the chat room there and one of the mods thought I was trolling and wanted to get banned because I posted in the say something random thread "banned" so she removed it instead. I didn't see how it was a coincidence until it got explained to me when they asked me if I wanted to get banned or was it a coincidence. And this was done by an aspie.

Yep people always seemed to have problems with my weird adult topics. I don't know why. If they don't like it, why do they even read it? It's the adult section so they may find things there they don't like. I don't walk into adult shops and complain about pornography there and other stuff I see I don't like. And I sure don't even pick stuff up and look at it and complain about it.

I was banned from a medical help forum, once, after they thought I was a troll when I, after they got concerned with my suicide talk, started saying that I will be killing myself in the future, regardless of the outcome of "it", together with my true love, in a romantic suicide pact. They found that so messed up that they apparently found it perfectly reasonable to ban me.

I was also banned from a travel site when they found out that my girlfriend was "underage". They called me a sexual predator and pedophile. My (ex-)girlfriend was seventeen, at that time.

I was later banned for the exact same reason from this terrible depression forum called "Suicide Forum" where you weren't even allowed to talk about anything - all you were allowed to do was give virtual hugs, pretty much. A friend of mine was also banned from there, and she later killed herself. When I was banned, though, a few members ganged up on me, and the site founder, that I believe had been stalking me, on there, happily banned me while I was being called a likely rapist and pedophile. A pedophile and "rapist" because my girlfriend, that I had never even met, was seventeen? I don't even like children in the conventional way - they annoy me. But I'm clearly quite easy to point fingers at, whenever someone is in the mood to find a scapegoat for whatever crosses their puny minds.... but honestly, it is a compliment when you are treated that way, by their kind - they are, after all, inferior, lowly vermin, that compliment you with their dislike of you.

I got banned from a forum moderated by the American Society of Cinematographers for advocating that films should be shot at a rate of 48 frames per second rather than 24 frames per second in order to increase motion fidelity. For this advocation I was denounced as having a fetish. Four months after I was banned 4 big Hollywood directors jumped on the 48 frames per second bandwagon. They are Peter Jackson, George Lucas, Doug Trumball and James Cameron. I get banned and these big shot Hollywood Directors are making millions of dollars because they have figured out a way to charge more money for a movie ticket.

Nope, I have been on few forums, and have tended to make a couple of posts and then forget about it.

This is the only forum that I've posted regularly on, and posted at all on since 2007 or earlier, when I was more immature and probably made a fool of myself somewhere, but didn't get banned.

I have been banned from two online forums, one because most members thought I was offensive and too weird and another where the moderator thought I was a troll or the alter ego of another banned member.:(
Well, the issue for me is that most of the people on the Internet are lying and/or deluded scumbags.

I tell them so.

Banned!

Move on to the next forum.

Tell more lying, delusional scumbags why I think they're absolute lowlifes.

Banned!

Encounter moderator who suffers from delusions of grandeur. I tell him he's a complete imbecile.

Banned!! !

Encounter an administrator on another forum who thinks that it is a wonderful privilege to be allowed to write posts on his forum. I inform him that his forum is really crappily moderated and rife with scumbags who have stayed around only because they're good at lying through their teeth and degrading people with a smile. I also inform him that his useless forum would be a total loss without the content that I am contributing to it (which it normally is) because I'm the only one posting there who ever investigates anything beyond the most superficial appearances. I inform the moron of my complete and total contempt for other people's mental laziness and apparent incapability of engaging in the most basic forms of genuine scholarship.

Banned!! ! Banned!! ! MEGA-BANNED!! !

Tell another administrator he's an ignorant fool who surrounds himself with phonies.

Banned, especially if it's true.

Am having a crappy week, so I go on a forum and verbally abuse whoever happens to be the most arrogant and useless ninny posting there.

Banned, obviously, and I guess deserved in this case.

I don't complain, of course. It's the prerogative of the people who own the forums to decide whom they want to allow to post on their forums. But they're really really stupid if they think that being allowed to do so is sufficiently important to me that I won't tell them exactly what my opinions are, in plain language.

In fact, I don't think that I could have very much respect for someone to whom the privilege of posting on some idiot's forum is really important enough to compromise themselves. But then again, I'm cranky, cynical and head-strong.

I get banned from forums for merely holding and defending an opinion that is contrary to the popular opinion or merely has not become the popular opinion in time to save me from getting banned. Of course some have called me a troll but on careful reconsideration even my critics agree that troll is not the correct word that describes my behavior. People find me annoying when I challenge their beliefs and they find me especially annoying when I use eloquent arguments to challenge their beliefs. Eventually they cave into my way of thinking but banning me gives them more time to hold on to their old beliefs.

Same here. I've never been banned from forums/groups, but I've often left on my own because I was either completely ignored or got a lot of negative responses or bad treatment for not fitting in perfectly.

A lot of times being banned and being ignored is the samething. Forums may allow you to post but block others from seeing your post.

That's just evil and it almost makes my blood boil, reading it. Do you have examples of forums that use such techniques?

Moderators on other forums have proposed using ignore blocking functions against me but realized that this would never work due to the fact that most people respond to my posts so if all of a sudden everyone ignored me I would realize that something was wrong.

Tell me about it! That is EXACTLY what happened to me, four years ago. The moderator said, "I don't think you did anything wrong. But I have to ban you to keep the peace."

About being banned in order to "keep the peace"... Long ago, I was banned from the GameFAQs forums. One morning, I went to post in the Final Fantasy VII board. When another GameFAQs member asked who my favorite Final Fantasy villain was, well, an entire army of prepubescent FFVII fanboys ignited a flame war against me just because the answer didn't include the word, "Sephiroth". The mods banned me because they were getting too many requests from the fanboys. They said it was, "to keep the peace". Whatever.
