just want to know im i the only one that Christmas is overrated.
why do NTs put on this false assumption that this ie the best time of the year.
i personal think its just another money scheme that's exploited.
Do all Aspies think the same or don't see the fun in it and just an other headache?

I love Christmas. It's pretty. I like the music from the classical and crooner eras.

I like baking.

I like decorating the tree.

I like penguins which have become popular decorations.

I like the new Dr. Who premiere.

I like watching the same movies and listening to the same songs as I did when I was small. I let myself sing along to Christmas music, but little else.

I like the recurrence of it.

I like cold weather (granted, that still comes without Christmas, but they are together in my head).

I like that people are less likely to be as*holes for no reason.

I don't participate in the gift-giving frenzy. Christmas is quiet, warm, simple, and homey for me.

So I actually love Christmas. I would not get tired of this month in constant recurrence.

I'm not really a fan of Christmas. I like the presents, though.

I love Christmas, so I guess that I'm the minority here.

These opinions are of my point-of-view(I am agnostic)
-Christmas is just a over-commercialised festivity which makes it meaningless towards its true intentions.
-People,especially nts' and the media tend to intentionally mislead "Santa Claus" is not an archaic gimmick, saying his "workshop" is in the"North Pole" which its true location is in Alaska.
[quote"chaotik_lord"]I like that people are less likely to be as*holes for no reason[/quote]
I wish it was like this for the remaining 364 days of the year.
-The final POV: Merry Christmas all of the WP inhabitants and New Year. :)
:) :) :D

This, basically.

I think Christmas is cheesy but it's a good time to spend with family and show them that you care.
Usually I am critical about having a day you show you care by giving presents. But then again I don't buy presents like I do for people on other days apart from their birthday.

I think there is an infectious magic about Christmas and I have caught it.

I like to see my family. Other than that I find it very difficult. Major sensory overload, serious executive function getting everything done for it. It's just a really difficult time with so much hype and a big let down after it's over. Not to mention the unrealistic expectations of it all.

I love Christmas nowadays. It used to be something I dreaded. It caused me a lot of worry and stress. I was anxious about it. Now I do low key Christmas and actually enjoy the holidays more than I ever have. Put your own peace of mind first and foremost and the holidays are enjoyable.

I love Christmas.
Everywhere I go on the internet, it seems to be the in thing to say "Christmas sucks, it's just a big commercial fad".

I've never lived with anyone that celebrates Christmas until this December. He's going to his family's home and visiting for the day though. I'll be spending Christmas alone in my apartment and I'm excited to have our apartment to myself for a little while. Usually I look forward to super cheap decorations(moravian stars, strings of lights etc.) after Christmas though.

Yeah, that's exactly why I say it, and have been saying it for over 15 years now. Because it's the in thing, and I obviously dedicate my every waking moment to being fashionable.

Yes, I was accusing you of dedicating your every moment to being fashionable.

I like Christmas and I don't. Sure it's become over-rated... everything always will be so long as NT's exist.

The hype is all for sales figures, and the family celebrations are all to fake how much better one family member is doing, than the rest, etc. The whole thing is fake, in my opinion. Ask half of the people at the mall what Christmas is, and they probably couldn't answer.

I don't think Jesus would feel one way or the other about how many expensive presents are bought & given, or how elegant a dinner table is put up, or how many megawatts of power your decorations are sucking up. He would just want you to appreciate and remember the true meaning of Christmas.
