There is a new show on FOX called Lie to Me. I like TV too much anyway but Lie to Me concentrates on people's expressions and body language. It's a Master's course in facial language for Aspies. Have you seen it. It's on right now on the West Coast.

Hi Tall-p, do you think the show is suitable fare for a nearly 13 year old? My dd has seen it once and loved it, I didn't see it, but would let her watch it more if it was ok, because of what you've said re the body language thing.

I've seen the premise of this show, and I would watch it, but TV shows move too slowly for my liking. I'd rather just read a web page.

I think it's okay for a teenager. It's a crime show, but not really violent. Someone is lying, and someone has hidden something precious, and everyone has issues.

Yes, I think it would be ok for a 13 year old - I've watched every episode and can't remember seeing anything too dodgy! It's a pretty good show but I have a sinking feeling it might be cancelled soon.

I've watched it for a while and it does help me to understand body language more. Also Tim Roth is one of my favourite actors. And one of the other characters is extremely good looking. Eli Loker his name is. Mmm.

Well that all sounds good enough to me, hopefully it wont be cancelled in Ireland for a while anyway.

Ooh, I've watched it often. I always wonder if Tim Roth could see if I'm lying.

I used to watch it all the time but then I wonder if the show judges me. It always makes me think I am lying all the time and makes me hyper aware of when I talk and think. I almost "hear" the show calling me a liar when I say something just because I might simply smile when I say something weird.

Watched it, not so bad as some. As for availability as course material, there is far too much face peering for me to be comfortable, and the cues are too subtle to catch even with instant replay and magnification. The techniques MIGHT work - though I would worry about aslleged universality - but the show does not do it.
