I am usually able to find anything on the internet. This time, the one thing I want to find, a practioner that is knowledgeable of AS in adults... is nowhere to be found in my area. I'm all for the kids getting diagnosed and treated, but what about the 29 year old woman whose family, psychologist, and self hadn't heard of Asperger's 26 years ago. I guess I should just call these people up and ask them what they'd do if they were me. I'm not really wanting a diagnosis for any other reason than finding out if this is REALLY the answer. It sure seems like it, and my brother who has a degree in psych (recent in the last ten years when more was being taught on Asperger's thinks I definitely have it, and my mom agrees most of the traits fit me, but since I have adapted fairly well, I only see sparks of it once in a while in myself. The vivid memories convince me, and my mother's memories, but I hate being unsure, and wonder if I am just so excited about how well this fits that I am getting ahead of myself. Sorry for the book, I'm just soul searching tonight. If anyone knows what I should think or feel, feel free to tell me. Should I just leave it alone? I'm poor with no insurance, and functioning fairly well, working, and in a relationship. Should I just feel content with the questions it DOES answer and just ignore the questions I still have? (LOUD SCREAM)

So you've discovered the void in the universe I see. Personally I think you would have better luck finding a Higgs Boson by smashing two rocks together with your fists, but people who do adult assessments can certainly be found though you may have to go out of your state and the assessments tend to be expensive.

I'm going to go smash two rocks together now, thanks. LOL.... maybe the best psychologist in the universe will be created by the friction. One can hope.

Consider yourself lucky that there are people somewhere in your country that diagnose AS. We have AS specialists in N.Ireland, but I had to fly to England to get ADHD diagnosis.

Definitely not a possibility for at least a long while.... I'm functional, but not THAT functional.

Nah, but I smashed my finger on the rock so now I've been distracted from the main problem. Just kidding, I'm not really playing with rocks.
