I am very new to computers(had technophobia...but over that now :D ,love my computer!),and could use some advice from you experienced "players"....

I have just had my first apointment with a new "expert" on AS and would like to have a web page to email him that I can put relevent info,my poetry, and pics of my collections and "stuff",so he can get a better picture of who I am...and maybe let a few family members(including aspie family :D ),have a place to visit my place also.....

I know myspace is an option, but dont know much about it....seems like a "click" or place to meet mates...not my intent....I wouldnt need to have anything on there that I had to hide from anonomous people but dont have a real interest in being drawn into a circle(if that makes sense).

Anyone have any suggestions(I really wish we had something like that at wrong planet, but guess its to expensive?)oh, thats the other thing....I dont have much money...looking for freebees....I have comcast internet...dont know if they have free web pages?

Looking for something like this? http://community.livejournal.com/autismoinspace
Livejournal seems to me like a classier place than myspace, and a lot of people use it so it can't be too difficult even for a beginner.
A place to post your pictures: http://www.photobucket.com

Also, I'm proud to say I've managed to keep my email 99% spam-free for years. Mostly thanks to http://www.sneakemail.com - with the "disposable" redirects, you don't have to give away your real address.
I don't use any spam filters, I think it defeats the purpose and second I don't really trust them.

Xanga's worked well for me. I didn't have to know anything about building a website to get it set up. Blogspot is also fairly easy to set up, and looks classier than xanga. The rest, I don't know anything about.

computadora.de
googlepages
http://www.blogger.com/

As someone mentioned, blogger is the easiest to use, lots of themes available, and they host the images you upload.

I Like computadora.de because it has a nice interface, you can have a journal (with several themes available), a webpage (that you can build as you like) and also host files, all for free. The page is in spanish but has lots of icons so it's easy to use.

www.funtigo.com and www.piczo.com are both good free sites.

Multiple page set up from a home page.

Funtigo also interfaces with photobucket so it isnt easier to just add stuff on there.

Full tutorials when starting up.

Check out my site as an example:

www.hyper-alien.funtigo.com

Oh and after the inital activation setup I have recieved no other emails.

It is also very easy to update and change features once the site is up and running... :D

I have a Xanga, and it works very well for me. Myspace is also cool; you could put your own videos and music on it pretty easy, and I don't even know a lot about computers! lol.
