Does anyone else often finding themselves laughing hard at things that others don't find as funny, or laughing at things that others don't find funny at all?

Is it a trick question?

Yes, all the time, even my stepfather (who I suspect may also have AS) is puzzled by what I find humorous.

Yes, absolutely. I find bad puns, strange coincidences, and general absurdities hilarious. On the other hand, I cannot see the humor in a lot of things that is seems pretty much everyone else on the planet finds hilarious (Will Ferrell movies, for example.)

I often laugh at the most absurd things - but most jokes make me smile at the best. :?

I often find myself laughing hysterically at things that are either quite immature, or things that other's don't find anywhere near as funny.

I think I am hilarious. I tend to insert quotes from tv shows, movies, comedians, etc into normal everyday conversations. I think it is hilarious; however, most people don't get the jokes, and quite often, I find myself explaining to people where the quote can from and why it is funny. I almost enjoy having to explain the jokes more than if the person were to understand the joke immediately.

I do.
I have a very dark sense of humor, so I mostly laugh at things that people find repulsive or evil.

I like my humor absurd and dry. I read somewhere that accused aspies of being humorless because they did not laugh at the expected bits, but they laughed at what the researchers found unfunny. To me that just speaks of the researchers don't having a good sense of humor...

Ive been told by many that I have an extremely dry sense of humor.

So I more than agree with this statement.

I giggle at my own private jokes and when I share them I am often still the only one giggling.

I do as can be seen by my attempts at humor on WP that nobody thinks are funny.

I want to give you guys an extreme example of this. I am 100% sure that my father has AS. There is one event in particular that comes to mind. I was an adult but this happened a long time ago. We were at a convenience store and someone got shot in the head right across the street. The person was a local and was quite dead. The other locals came out and were obviously upset about the murder. So WTF does my dad do? He takes a paper bag, blows it up with air, and pops it right behind the crowd with his other hand to simulate the sound of a gunshot (think popping balloon noise but louder). needless to say the crowd that was gathered around the murder victim did not find it funny but my dad thought it was hilarious. I got him out of there before he got shot.

I often laugh alone.
