I'd love to have my own secret society. It would have its idols, rituals, beliefs, not a religion but more like the masons. I just think that the secrecy and symbolism, plus a system of ideals would really suit my aspergers.

I don't belong in this world.

A secret society would come close.

Hmmm.

And what exactly would your super-secret society do?

The problem with any society (secret or otherwise) is that everyone has their own sense of "truth" and that will always hinder a primary goal. There are universal truths, but no-one believes them and likely never will.
And people will always feel like they're being discriminated against for stating a belief that is not mainstream. This is happening to Christianity more than people would like to believe (Christians aren't able to actually state their beliefs without being met with hostility for doing so).
I don't think any kind of organized society would ever be any different than mainstream society, in that both would shun difference of thought and belief, in fear of what people are trying to escape from.

A secret society of one is the best; who can you trust but yourself? But, how do you know if you can trust yourself? That's a bother.

Make one if you want one, though.

Is there a use for secret societies anymore?

Sounds interesting! I've often wanted to have my own world. This planet and its societies just don't fit me :)

Anyone interested in writing a charter/ tenets with me? Art style ideas? I'm really into cogs atm and I like the idea of machines having a soul one day

What will the mafia do? What kind of illegal activities?

How about trying to invent something that influences the way a child develops when still in the mother's womb and make sure every newborn will be on the spectrum by manipulating the most essential kinds of food with it? In other words: Turn the wrong planet into a right planet! Yay, world domination!

And play right into the stereotype that people have now? Yeah, real smart. (not)
