I used to have an obsession with people who were sick. I don't really know why, but I just did. I don't know if it was an empathy thing where I felt bad or what. I just had an obsession with it for some reason. I think that obsession has sort of died out though because it doesn't seem to bother me as much as it used to.

What about you? Any weird obsessions you've ever had/still have?

When I was little I had an obsession with pulling the labels or stickers off things. I must have been a nightmare to take shopping. Even now I sometimes collect tags from clothing shops. I have no idea why I do this. I still enjoy de-labelling things and peeling off stickers but it's not compulsive.

Anyone who me back in the 90's would say troll dolls. I had maybe at least 200 of them! I used to have names for each one and when I displayed them in my bedroom or anywhere else it was in OCD-like fashion where for example I would have all the baby trolls in one place and the trolls with different job-related uniforms in another. I once made a miniature Troll Town where I would role-play with the tinier trolls, and I once dressed up like Mimi from The Drew Carey show at a Halloween party because she liked troll dolls. I still have a few of them but my interest in unusual-looking, fantasy-related dolls has expanded to Monster High and Disney Fairies and Equestria Girls.

Memorizing the lyrics to old Swedish ballads from the 19th century.

I've had a few weird ones, some that were short-lived, only a few weeks, like eyeglasses and left-handedness, and one that lasted almost a year: Gene Wilder. I watched almost all his movies, even though I don't really like the 1970's-80's genres of film. I did enjoy Young Frankenstein, The Producers (technically from 1968), Hear No Evil See No Evil (hilarious) and Funny About Love (the plot was crap, but Gene excelled himself in his acting in that one, plus it was directed by Leonard Nimoy!)

as a child I was obsessed with the color of people's alimentary products. after that I was fixated upon the immediate removal of tags of loose skin on my chapped lips. I still battle with that today.

I wonder what the reason for that is.

Right now I have two odd ones - I'm obsessed with finding salt cellars every time I go 'thrifting'! I go in the glassware area and keep asking myself 'is this a salt cellar?', I more look for the 'open salt' type but lidded ones are great too

The other one is teaching myself to sing along to songs by the band Rammstein (they're all in German, I can't speak it but I'm sort of learning how to sing along to them!)

Not so much. Maybe you could write a book on the subject - 50 shades of sh*t.
