Has autism negatively impacted your life?

It has, a lot more bad than good coming out simply because I was autistic. Had a sh***y childhood, abusive parents,been bullied, taken advantage of (still), who is just a lost soul, digging for some form of truth.

I can't even get into my obsessions, without people bashing me out of the way. No one even wants to bother of me looking at those pop science youtube videos.

It just generally seems that people simply hate me and want to constantly break me down as much as possible.

Yes. It keeps me from doing things others have no problem with and gives me sensory problem and causes meltdowns.

That's the same with me. The hostility and reactions are even worse coming from my own family. I guess that my mum was putting me into a box before I was conceived. She wanted a sassy b***h, but she got sensitive, thoughtful Mick Avory instead.

I believe is has partially caused me to be in the hospital that has changed my life in a negative way

I think my ADHD and general physical weakness (dyspraxia?) have had more of a negative impact on my life. I think my autistic traits somewhat mitigate my ADHD.

Most of the problems I've had in my life can be traced back to being autistic, in some way, shape, or form, so yes.

Areas of poor executive functioning, poor motor coordination and a slight speech impediment have had negative effects. A lot of negative effects are a result of non acceptance of perfectly legitimate Autistic traits and preferences.

In some ways it has but probably the thing that affected my life the most in a negative way is decades of clinical depression. Just no way to work around that...it's always that dark, crushing cloud from which there is no escape.

I don't have anything to compare living with autism to. So I can't really tell. It's a huge part of my personality for better or worse.
