Created a poll, just curious. I left out an 'other' field intentionally, as there are far too many diagnoses.

Comorbid = Conditions/disorders diagnosed in addition to autism spectrum disorder.

I don't mind whether you've self-diagnosed or have a clinical diagnosis (official or unofficial).

Good combination.

I do suspect dyslexia and dissociation but do not have the money to bring my suspicions to a professional.

Autism spectrum disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder

Yes, i did not use in-your-face-acronyms and I actually am diagnosed with all three. They are clearly defined, each one their respective hell... Not just something I decided I might want to associate my "personality" with. I feel insulted by the term disorder because certain mental illnesses are much more then a disorder (disorder of thought), there are structural/signaling pathway differences in the brain that cause each of these afflictions. I was born with them.

High doses of medication makes this life tolerable.

Here is the interesting part...being born this way is fascinating because as most of you are willing to agree these disabilities actually have unique and positive side effects.

Autism spectrum disorder: Logic, heightened senses
Obsessive compulsive disorder: Perfection, quick thinking
Generalized anxiety disorder: Safety, calculated actions

Welcome to my paradox, these are my mental super powers.

General Anxiety.

It seems nearly as common to autism as social difficulties.

I'm only diagnosed autism spectrum disorder, I had a long history of depression but it was all a result of things that had nothing to do with brain chemistry.

I suspect I have an anxiety disorder of sorts, but I don't care enough to get help for it.

I have been diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy in 1987, a form of post traumatic stress disorder and Asperger syndrome. It was also ironic that issues concerning these comorbidities started in 1974 but thats another subject and off topic here. I had my first epileptic seizure in May 1974 and the first event to trigger a form of PTSD that some psychiatrists have termed borderline personality disorder the first event was in April 1974 about Easter. The epileptic seizure was the first sign of epilepsy since I had Dravet syndrome from 1967-68

Tho I was never officially tested I know I have dyslexia, dysgraphia and an official diagnosis learning disability in math Not too sure about depression tho people ask if I'm depressed because of my outlook is in life pessimistic in nature. Tho in reality through my own eyes that is what I see so who the .... knows.
