We all suffer from being on the spectrum. There is no cure for any of us. We can't do it alone, but together perhaps we can at least lead a good life. Just like the reset of society, all of us have our strengths and weakness. By ourselves there isn't much hope. Together we can help each other grow and perhaps all of our lives will benefit. Personally I don't like the separate distinctions. We are all on the spectrum, just at different levels. While I have good intelligence, I communicate badly and have no friends outside the internet. Perhaps I can learn to change that.

Like KB said, we are all in this together and should focus on encouraging and supporting each other.

I would agree with this.

Aspergers is just a label created.

We all have Autism and to be blunt many aspies are in denial as to how much their autism affects them.

I am what would be called an aspie but I can not offer advice on relationships or independent living because I have never achieved either.

Some (not most) would say I'm normal now. A few years ago I was told I'm definitely an Aspie. And as a child if HFA had existed that's the label I would have gotten. The labels are fluid. My message would be labels shouldn't matter, people matter. You matter Jeni!

The message is: we could learn from each other, benefit from each other.

We mustn't put the other down--Asperger's to classic autism and classic autism to Asperger's

We mustn't place each other in an exclusive club.

Autism is just a label too... We're all just people until we have a nametag.

We're all on the same wrong planet, uniquely positioned to appreciate and value our commonalities as well as our individual differences.

On the so-called right planet any difference is negative by definition. I beg to differ.

i would also say that no kind of autism is an illness of any sort. as much weaknesses as we have, we need to stop dwelling on them so much. we can either spend the rest of our lives moping about what coulda/woulda/shoulda been or we could put our autism to good use.
