This video on shutdowns I think is pretty accurate. At least for me. What do you guys think?

Her description was spot on for me. I often feel like my limbs are too heavy to move, and like I'm not really part of the world anymore. I often want to hide under objects like blankets or tables during my shutdowns, and even ordinary sensory input becomes too much to deal with. I set up a small child-sized tent in my basement that I go and sit in when I'm shutting down at home, and it's helpful. It makes me feel safer, like the rest of the world is blocked out, and I can just let my brain turn itself off for a few hours.

Amythest Schaber is truly amazing at educating NT people about autistics.

I love Amythest, she is my favor autistic YouTuber! :)

I've only had a small handful of shutdowns in my life and those were when I was much younger. It took me until after my diagnoses to figure out what they were.

I'm saving that and showing it to anyone I need to explain what an overload/shutdown feels like from the perspective of the Autistic.
