Saturday 5 May 2007,

I , nutbag, gave an approximate fifteen minute talk on adults with Asperger's Syndrom to the Northern Arizona Chapter of the Autism Society of America.

It went well. My talk fairly followed my nearly but not quite complete blog here on WP "Asperger's From the Inside."

Following my talk I received several questions. I also was congradulated on having given an "eloquent" talk.

Yeaaaa for me!

Yeaaaaa for all ASD people!

Yeaaaaa for all NTs who give a damn about us!.

Hey Nutbag,

You should call attention to your blog! I only read part of it, but I liked your use of the R word. I have called myself an idiot and stupid in that context, but strayed from the R word. BTW AS people don't really have a problem with speaking at the wrong volume, but monitoring it and keeping it appropriate. That subtle difference means a tape recorder won't help.

And CONGRATULATIONS! I think you covered a lot of good points, etc...!

Steve

Thank you Steve K. Yes, I agree about the loudness monitoring. Mostly, I find that I must run a conscious self monitoring effort - not only loudness, but tonality too.

If I let myself free run, I tend to speak fast and loud and monotone.
