Trying to get a diagnosis

All my life ive felt unable to interact with others properly, i develop intense obsessive intersts and stim frequently when i feel over stimulated. Yesterday i went to my general physician to get a reference to a psychologist. I didnt go into detail about my symptoms, i merely said I enjoy being alone and have trouble with social interactions. Next thing i know my physician gave me a reference to a psychologist for "personality disorder". This made me feel pretty bad, since my symptoms dont match up with any personality disorder.

Don't worry what the GP thinks, it's not his area. He's passed you on to see the psychologist, that's the important

thing. The psychologist will make up his own mind. When is your assessment?

Im at the psychologists office, making an appointment right now

You were right, i met with the psychologist and I will be evaluated for autism, not personality disorder. They said they dont pay attention to the GP's reference.
