Will my heart disorder affect how I go to water slides?


In Raging Waters and Great America, they have rules that you can't go on some rides or you have to be careful to what water slides you go to, if you have a heart or lung related disorder.



I have a mild heart condition that is caused by genetic, mutations, deficiencies or environmental factors.


Since my heart condition is mild, I want to go to any rides, regardless of what their policy says.





My symptoms of a heart condition:


* One of my valve does not open and close very well



I don’t know what my condition is called, I just listed my symptoms

How does your body manage when you participate in sports?

waterslides, maybe. doc's opinion #1 important, or absent that, you have to have witnesses to see if you are visibly flushed or short of breath after ONE such ride. if you past muster with them, it may be ok. NOT roller coasters as your ticker gets quite a workout with those. a valve that doesn't open and close properly can set you up for an infarct upstream [possible stroke] later on, due to clots forming, from what i've read. don't tempt fate, thrill rides are not worth it. i don't like them meself.

I love thrill rides and rollercoasters, but the wooden ones with the rougher ride, and the wild mouse variations are MURDER on my bad back. :-/

I agree that you should probably ask your doctor whether they think it’s okay or not. They really just have those warnings for liability purposes, no one’s going to ask you if you have a heart condition before you go on a ride and say you can’t because you do. You and your doctor know best what’s safe for you and what isn’t.
