For me it's when:

-my drama therapist said I was the most interesting person she'd ever met
-Dr. L. said I wasn't insane, autistic or ret*d
-Dr. D. said he'd worked with crazy people for 20 years and that I wasn't crazy
-Dr. D. said, "How about I diagnose you as a human being?"
-a person on an online forum I sued to frequent saying in a public debate how he liked the way I saw both sides of situations. :D

My cousin saying in an email that I am 'family that doesn't suck'.

When I was in a really bad way once, someone told me the story of King Solomon's ring. He wanted an inscription on his ring to make him happy when he was sad, and sad when he was happy. The inscription was "This too will pass."

When my friend (I've only got the one :P ) said, "You're not crazy or ret*d. You just have an alternate pattern of behaviour, because you have an alternate way of seeing the world. Different doesn't automatically mean crazy, and special doesn't always mean 'speshul'."

I can't remember anymore.
They cease to matter once the person who said them is out of my life.

My cousin once told me I was the most authentic person he'd ever met.

My first grade teacher said I was very smart.

People on my cat site have told me I'm a very nice person who really loves cats.

I've been called a nice guy a few times by people who meant it, but there's better than this.

Seven years or so ago I was in a relationship with a woman who had a problem or three. I did the best I could, I helped out when I could do something effective, and together we slowly got her life back together. What I didn't know was that she told her friends at work all about me and what I had done so when I went to collect her from work one day something wonderful happened.

As I walked in an office of fifteen people stopped what they were doing and made sure they either said hello or shook my hand. One woman who I had never met gave me a big hug and said that "I was a wonderful man".

It sure felt good.

When: -

My friend Faye called me loyal
My friend Faye called me brave
My friend Faye expressed that she thinks some of the things I do are brave to a great extent and she doesn't think she could do such things...

A good friend Faye is lol.

Other such things - when some random person called me ace - strange how that would mean a lot to me but really - last year of College has been an absolute massive swing in the right direction from the old, mentally weak, pushover guy that I used to be.
I'm much stronger now but still not used to such compliments. :D

"The autistic one who humiliates him/herself will be exalted & the NT who exaltes him/herself will be humiliated."

The deacon at church & I were talking & we came up with this.

"I can't remember anymore.
They cease to matter once the person who said them is out of my life."

This is exactly what I was thinking as I was going over the thread. But I couldn't have said it so well.

I've been told many nice things by people who later on left me for being different, weird, a shame to be seen with, a bad game player, too honest, whatever. So those things don't mean anything to me today.

But I think the one I liked the best was "I will always be your friend, we'll grow old together".

When I supported a colleague who is bipolar, she became a friend and I heard
from a 3rd party that she 'thought the world of me' and that I was 'a godsend.'
This was in the days before I knew I about AS and unfortunately the stress of trying
to cope with being overworked and a complex relationship at the same time was too much for me and she found someone else who could cope better than me. I don't bear any grudges though and wished her all the best.

A lot of people have said I am a beautiful person(in terms of inside I believe), I suppose that was meaningful at the time.
I have been told I am highly intelligent.
I have been called wise a fair few times when I was more involved in my spiritual side.
I have been told I am a kind girl, though mostly by my mother who recalls me as a child, of course.
And a lot said I have a good heart, tho damned if I know where that comes from. It might have been once, but bitterness twists it now.
