I think the results of this test are too inflated. I scored 77 on this one, but got only 56 on the complete EQ test (see my thread about it).

Your score = 85

There's some bad news and some good news. The bad news is that your Emotional IQ is relatively low. In a practical sense, this means that you are not reaching your full potential. Low EIQ has a negative impact on all aspects of life such as relationships, your emotional health and level of motivation. As a result of your behavior, others may view you as being critical, inexpressive, inhibited, detached, cold, or even condescending. Your difficulties relating to others and dealing successfully with your own emotions may have a negative impact on your health; people with lower EIQs are prone to anxiety, depression, excessive guilt, aggressiveness, low self-concept, and stress-related problems. Chances are that you also have difficulty bouncing back from life's problems. Now for the good news: by learning and practicing new skills and more effective ways of dealing with people, you can significantly improve your EIQ. The benefits will be numerous, including stronger relationships, a more successful career and better health. Most of all, you will be an all-around happier person.

I took the EQ test online a few years back. I got <50. They didn't even give me a score. They just showed my placement on the Bell curve. I was in the -2 SD area. Sad, I know... What I don't get, though, is that I thought I answered a lot of the questions correctly. The answers I gave seemed like common sense to me. Who knows?

I received a score of 125. My social intelligence has developed with age and experience, and it sure as hell didn't come easy, but now it is second nature. I still have a way to go however, I hope to develop a broad network of friends in the near future.

Because I'm depressed and am honest about my problems and limitations I am therefore ret*d.

Next time I'll think about flowers and kittens and other happy thoughts before taking the test.

haha 74, but I agree with what others have said about this test and it seems more geared to depression.....

77! I'm emotionally unintelligent, and here I was thinking I was intelligently unemotional. Go figure.

that's what I got too. I think it's a bit of a skewed test...it really depends on the circumstances of the person as much as their emotional state what they will score.

I love a test that measures my emotional intelligence on the basis of a few really silly questions!

83, but emotions aren't important anyway. I feel they actually keep the world from functioning optimally. I think crimes should be judged by robots instead of people. Robots only exhibit flaws that have been programmed into them. Humans display flaws even if their programming is perfect.

71 The questions were very ambiguous though and the answers are easily affected by current mood.
