Are aspies more likely to want a different then standard pet? For example, sure, Ive had a dog, parents bought it, and its cute, i hate cats cause i'm allergic, but to me, i would absolutely love to have a Racoon.

How about everyone here? What is your perfect pet?

A Ferret, I have had a pet ferrets for 20 years, because I am allergic to cats, they are way cooler then owning either a cat or dog. Raccoons sound great, but they are not domesticated, they have been known to turn on their owners, when they reach sexual maturity, and can carry rabies if caught in the wild.

Birds, Cats, Dogs, Snakes, Iguanas pretty much anything is ok by me as long as it does not attack ^_^

Oh by the way did you guys know that solid white cat's don't bother people with cat allergies??? Yeah its sweet so even if you have cat allergies don't give up on owning a cat ^_^

i don't know. I've kept a dog (Maggy r.i.p. :( )...I currently "have" two cats. I don't see anything wrong with normal types of pets.....my cats rock, that sucks that you are allergic (but cool about the white cat thing, I didn't know that)

but...I would love to have some ferrets one day! and some goats, a tarantula, a falcon to use in falconry, an octopus, a pack of dogs, a horse, thousands of honey bees (or at least hundreds) ....any bats willing to hang out in the barn (the barn in my imagination anyway, i live in the city....but they swarm out from under bridges at dusk!) ....a moderately sized whitewater albino rosy boa and 3 muntjac deer......probably some I'm forgetting..

but alas, i live in a garage apartment that has no doors with an upstairs and a downstairs that my two cats reiqn supreme over as it is.....plus there are only two windows that actually open, one being in the bathroom....so the stench would be unimaginable....and that many bees in 800sq.ft. ... .. 8O

not so sure the ferrets and snake would get along either.

And a dolphin.

Cat. Of course. A cat is an autistic dog, isn't it? ;)

OMG an octopus would be so fun in fact I just remembered a dream where I had a pet octopus. I wonder can you teach an octopus to play fetch??

Octopi are really smart too. But sadly have a short lifespan of around 5 years.

Ya right, I am just as allergic to white cats, as to any other cat such as black, calico, siamese, persian, tabbys, maincoon, I am even allergic to hairless cats. I can't even go into a house use to had a cat, without the rugs walls and furnace being thoughly cleaned. That was very dumb advice to give someone with a cat allergy.

I have a cat, it's so cute, but it's some months I've been thinking of taking an Alaskan Malamute. Anyone owns or has owned one ? Thoughts, advice ? I know he needs a lot of attention, so I when I take him I want to be sure I can give him all the attentions needed...maybe in a few months.

EDIT: I would love to have a squirrel, but it would be SO cruel to own one in a cage, I could NEVER do that. One year ago I bought 2 parrots but I left them fly away after one month, I couldn't stand seeing them in that cage :( As for the squirrel I will be happy when I see one in the woods

I always wanted a horse....never had the money or opportunity. My pets were pretty normal, but I was almost never allowed to pick them out myself. Had dogs & cats, a couple of rabbits, mice, & some birds. for a little while, I cared for a small flock of sheep. Guess they would be considered the most unusual.

I am petless for now. Would love to have a dog that was more interactive than my last one. He was great, just didn't like to play fetch or with toys. He did love going on long walks, & he enjoyed car rides once he got used to it. I think I would like an Australian Shepherd. Nice size, not too small nor too big, & they are very interactive.
