What are you taking for medications, at this time, to treat anxiety? Do you have social, or general anxiety? Is it working for you?
I tried to use the forum's search menu, it wasn't giving me the answers...

Zoloft. Numbs the daily anxiety and makes me feel "normal". Xanax for when I need something quickly for when the anxiety makes it through.

I have general anxiety - but still get social anxiety even with the Zoloft. Hence the occasional use of Xanax. Hope that helps!

I tried that prescription stuff. It can't be good for you

I take:
St. John's Wort
Ginkgo Biloba
a multi vitamin
B complex
M&M's with peanut butter
And I spend as much time as possible in my cave.
I'm not sure which part is important, but something is working.

"Can't be" good or "isn't" good?

Haven't seen any side-effects and haven't heard of any side-effects that might creep up on me later.

I say, whatever works - everyone is different.

And just because something is "natural" or "herbal" doesn't mean it isn't working off the same chemistry and definitely doesn't mean its guaranteed safe. I've heard sketchy things about gingko. It was only a few years ago that you could buy ephedrine supplements at the corner "health food store".

Vitamin B in pill form makes me throw up - past the point of dry heaves and straight to puking bile. Now - THAT can't be good for me (teeth, esophagus, duodendum...)

To each his own...

Did you know you can use Benedryl for anxiety? It quiets the nerves. I read that in a psychiatry book from the library I checked out recently.

I'm on nothing for anxiety right now. Before, my first psychiatrist doubled my dose of Celexa "to do something about the anxiety", even though it was understimulation that was making me move around like that. But it's true that the understimulation was black objects in my head that I might have gotten trapped in if I didn't stimulate myself, and the objects were depression/anxiety/boredom/anger in one, so maybe I did have anxiety after all. But I thought he was trying to kill my ability to know I was in danger from the black objects and/or do something about it, so I naturlly thought, "I have anxiety for a good reason and I need my anxiety to help me so don't take it away!"

I take zoloft, but it's for depression and anxiety. I also take propanolol, 10 mg, 2x a day. I also take klonopin .5 mg as I need it, up to 4x a day.

I tried Celexa for a few weeks and it made me overly assertive and irritable. Xanax and valium make me hyper and nervous and my heart race which is the exact opposite of what its suppose to do.

I take Anafranil for my OCD; it also helps lessen both the severity and the frequency of my panic attacks. I take Klonopin as needed for severe panic attacks.

I take Paxil for depression and anxiety and Xanax for those times when I just can't calm down enough to function.

I've tried the prescriptions and I'd prefer to not be "numbed" to be revealed of my specific symptoms.

What works best for me is the word's safest drug.

Cannabis Sativa & Cannabis Sativa Indica

I know it will work for others if given the chance.

I’m also on paxil for anxiety and depression. I can’t say it has worked miracles but it has calmed me down a little bit.
